ProEXR 1.5 released

Now that Adobe has shipped Photoshop and After Effects CS5, it's time for ProEXR to join the party. Available now is version 1.5, complete with 64-bit versions for Mac and Windows. In fact, the Photoshop plug-in has been rewritten from the ground up to take full advantage of all the memory you can throw at it and load those giant EXRs as fast as I know how. As usual, this update is free.

After Effects CS5 ships with 1.5 pre-installed (shout out to my Adobe pals!) and CS3/4 users can update their plug-ins with 32-bit versions, also included.

But wait, there's more. Also included is ProEXR EZ for those Photoshop users who wanted extra alpha control but less multi-layer confusion. Not to mention countless small improvements and optimizations.

Enjoy!

Congrats on the include with the shipped version of AE.

Quick question:
1. Where has the "Create ProEXR Layer Comps" tool gone?

BTW, the download link is still pointing at v1.3...

Cheers,
Olly

Great news!
Any chance of an update to the j2k plug-in for AE as well?

Olly, the ProEXR Comp Creator is included with the download. It doesn't come with After Effects CS5, so you have to add it.

I've heard some people in the UK complain that the page wasn't updating with the new links. I think it may be some sort of proxy server cache issue. Hopefully it'll be settled soon!

Peter, I'm working on a j2k update. Some 64-bit Windows issues are slowing me down, but j2k is next on my list to be updated.

There's information here about using the OpenEXR plug-ins in After Effects:

I am having a problem with 1.4 for CS5 on mac. I am able to load exr files in and use the comp creator, but as soon as I try to render or reopen the project, I get black frames. is there somewhere else I need to be getting 1.5?

It seems the posts here mainly care about the released ProEXR.That's funny but professional enough. This piece of software should offer some helps to our design work.
